Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place runner in each age group for men and women during a medal ceremony immediately following the completion of the event. Medal winners are required to participate to receive medals. All medal winners are eligible to represent South Carolina at the State Games of America ( in the future. State Games of America rules will be used to determine your age group at the National Championships. You will be permitted to compete in the older age group even if you age out of the younger age group for which you qualified.

Additional Weekend Events
The State Games South Carolina 8k presented by Greenville Water is an 8k running race on a 5 mile loop that is a mix of pavement and dirt. There are other events happening on the same weekend at the same venue, but only 8k racers are eligible for State Games SC medals. Other events are non-medal events.

Rules & Regulations

Age Groups (Male & Female)
Age groups are 10 year increments starting at 10 years old. Age group is your age on race day.
9-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Anyone may enter, but only South Carolina residents, college students and military personnel who have lived in the state of South Carolina for at least 30 days prior to the day of competition may win State Games SC medals. South Carolina residents attending college or serving in the military in another state are also eligible to compete & win medals.

Participants will run 8 kilometers on a rolling course that winds its way through the beautiful Lake Conestee Nature Park. The 5 mile loop has a mix of pavement and dirt surfaces.

Check-In Procedure
There will be no advanced packet pick up. Participants will pick up their numbers at the main pavilion at Lake Conestee Nature Park from 7:30-8:30am on May 19, 2018. There will be no race day registration.
